Welcome to BYC. V perches work better for pigeons rather than flat perches. One adage that holds true is: "Never fly birds that you can not afford to lose." Birds that have homed to a site will generally return there if of any quality.

Thanks for the tip on the perches. I had to put a small loft together in a rush so I'll be sure to make the change on a more permanent solution.

I'm also hoping to not attempt to fly them until I have some young birds that should be homed to my loft. That way if mom and dad leave it won't be a problem. If they head home (one has done a 500 mile race) then I know where to find them. lol.

Here is most of our flock. A few members are missing. They get to free range most of the day.

Here are my new racing homers. I have two pairs. Hoping they will breed in the coming months. They've all been flown so I'm not sure they will rehome but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Gonna need a lot of info on these.
