My wife and I just brought home our first batch of 6 chicks. We will be ordering 2 more shortly. The bummer is I still have to build the coop, I still have a couple of weeks to do so(I seem to work better under pressure). Hope I all goes well any advice is welcome. Should keep the wife busy.

Enjoy your new chicks. The best tip I could give you is build your coop to hold many more birds than you plan on keeping. You undoubtedly will get more in the future. They are addicting! Your coop floor should have a min of 4 sq feet per bird and if you don't free range you need at least 10 sq ft of run space per bird. Welcome again and feel free to hit us chicken fools up with any questions you may have. This is a great web page to learn all about chickens.
