Yes, you are close! If you just want hatchery type chicks either Wilco (Stayton), Coastal Farm (Albany) or mail order. Cools Feed and Supply in Albany is great for feed/supplies, I buy from them as I try to support local small business. If you decide you want to buy from a local breeder, let me know what breed(s) you are looking for and I may be able to set you up with someone. I breed Delawares, Black Copper Marans, New Hampshires and Ameraucanas.

Beautiful country you are coming in from -- I spent four years in Yamhill County and visit every chance I get as both my family and my husband's are still in the area. If you have one near you (not sure just where you are in the Valley) you should hit up your local Wilco Farmstore if you haven't already - great source for all your poultry keeping needs (shameless plug for my former employer, lol, but it's a plug with the utmost sincerity as they really are great)
