Hello from Kansas, mermaidmadi, and [IMG]! Happy you joined our community! Here are some links that will help you on your poultry journey: The Learning Center is packed with great information on all things chickens - tons of articles really worth your time to read:
And a similar index of articles about raising ducks: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/256233/ducks-sticky-topics-index
And here's the Ducks Forum should you have specific quacker questions: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks
Finally, if you'd like to chat with some fellow Lone Star poultry folks, find the TX thread in this links and say hello:

G’Day from down under mermaidmadi [IMG] Welcome!

As you have already received some links to great starting points, I will just wish you and your little ones all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]
