Hello!
My hubby and I are 3 months new to raising chickens. We built a mansion and took in a Rhode Island Red rooster and hen as our first boarders. Within 2 weeks we had 3 more boarders. Collectively, our 4 hens are producing a little more than 2 dozen eggs per week. Not sure if thats good or not. To give our hens a little rest time (one clearly needs it), we took on 3 more just this past week. Very young chickens and feel it will be some time before they produce. When we acquired the latest 3, we were told they were Delawares. Pretty little things, but after looking at this site, I am not sure they are. They have markings like photos I have seen here of Lt. Brahmas white chicken with black streaked neck and tail markings - but without the leg feathers. I plan to list a photo of them soon in hopes of generating feedback as to their true name.
Anyway, we are interested not only in egg collection but of breed and are excited to learn from all of you!
