Firstly WELCOME! Personally i would not keep ducks and chickens together as they have very different environmental needs. Chickens need a dry inviroment and ducks a more humid?, moist?, wet even the poop from a duck can cause issues with a chicken ( or so iv been told but someone more knowledgeable my give more detailed advice) as it too tends to be wetter than chicken poop. I know it is more expence , time and space but the health and well-being must come first even if that means rehomeing o or the otherFirst time raising poultry. I made it through ducklings niacin deficiency but now my rooster (Black Australorp) is mounting my ducks. The ducks are running from him and when I went out to shut the coop up tonight the ducks were sleeping in the run. We have predators so I put them all in the coop at night. I also believe one of the Polish chicks I got is also a rooster he does not appear to be dominant. Any way to keep the rooster from mounting the ducks? Or should I rehome if possible? Thanks for the help.
