i raised pheasant years ago got rid of my brooders mostly blue backs, jumbo whites and the melanistic they were my favorite, might get back into it now that I have more time

There are several breeds that have beards or muffs... a common hybrid variety are Easter Eggers (a cross with Ameraucana). I have 2 EE girls...

Oh, and I see that's what you must have too! Ameraucanas will lay blue eggs, but the EEs can lay blue, green, tan or cream... it's always a surprise!
