I'm a crazy duck lady. I absolutely go Gaga over Runners. Congrats on babies. My set up is kinda like my Mamaw's was growing up. We have a spot we call the Maternity Ward/ hospital. We keep a large plastic tub on it's side in our laundry room. Our coop is not large enough to separate, and snakes can sometimes get in.
Mamaw used to try and grab Mom and eggs before they hatched and move them inside. I think it makes us sleep a little better too, and is less stressful on Mom knowing she has a backup she trusts, after all you raised her. We keep two, 2.5 gallon chicken watering containers. One with clean fresh water and one with the electrolytes, and probiotics. We also while we are awake keep an old metal wash pan filled with water surrounded by an old blanket for mom and babies to swim and play. While we can supervise. Keeping them in the laundry room too helps us keep mom and babies warm and cozy.
