from Missouri! My egg production is down very low right now but I do have a second hen sitting right now? I was surprised as I didn't expect any more broodies until spring. I have one hen who hatched six eggs about two weeks ago or so. Sadly, she lost one while in the run...it just disappeared

It was very tiny and could have gotten through then fence. She takes them among them entire flock now and fights any hens who disturb her babies! LOL You will just have to be patient. good luck!

from WI. Some breeds are less broody than others so you may want to keep that in mind too. You can check breed info ( on BYC, Feathersite, Henderson's Chicken Breed Chart etc) to get some info on the breeds you have and/or plan to get in the future
