Hi everyone. Call me mama peaches. I hve a small flock of 5 hens. They weren't very healthy when I got them and I have been having to get rid of mites and now I have one of the best layers has gleet and I just want to make them happy and healthy as naturally as possible. I believe in essential oils for so many health problems for chickens as well as humans. My son is out there giving them some sour cream with the probiotic in it that helps inside with the gleet and then we will basically use what you would use to get rid of a yeast infection we have found that garlic works wonders as an antifungal so we'll probably make a little bit of garlic water and see if we can clear it up that way on the outside.I'll post how it goes guys also giving them sour cream cuz I didn't have any yogurt we'll get some yogurt tomorrow I like the sound of the chicken hash I think I'll give it a try

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I lost a hen to complications resulting from vent gleet. Treat it aggressively to try to clear her up.
I recommend daily baths to clean her backside, coat her skin under her vent with pine tar to protect it and start feeding the flock fermented feed to increase gut health. I would also treat with a vaginal anti-fungal cream.
