We have 5 rosters, 6 grown hens, 18 babies, and 4 beanies (I think is how you spell it), along with two pigs. I'm new to chicken and pig raising.

Hi Shennon.

Welcome to BYC. Hope you enjoy raising chickens, I sure do. Do you have a particular goal in mind or a special breed? I have mine for eggs and fun. We don't do much breeding. Pigs, I've never had, but my childhood friend raised durocs for 4h. Piglets were cute! What did you mean by "4 beanies"?

Thank you. I'm doing it for fresh chickens, eggs, raising them, and fun all at the same time. I am enjoying it very much. The beanies are small chickens. I'm not sure if I'm even spelling it right though. I was going to look on here to see if I could find their breed.

Maybe. Beanies just kind of stuck with me because they are about the size of a beanie baby.

Can you post a picture?
Bantam just means a small version of a chicken. It's not a breed. Sometimes there is a larger version of the same breed.

I have some Seramas that are tiny and don't come in large size.

Welcome to BYC Shennon. Now I learned something new today - beanies. Some bantams are small enough to be beanie babies, like seramas. My friend has 2 seramas hens and 2 silkies as house pets.
