I decided to cut and paste the introduction questions so I don't miss anything.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am completely new. I've never raised a chicken before, but have wanted to for YEARS.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
0
(3) What breeds do you have?
Going to have Buff Orpington's.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google is my friend
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy gardening and handywork, such as minor house remodeling, building things, like my shed and chicken coop.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a wife and a 12 year old daughter. We have one inside cat and one outside cat. I work for a 5-star hotel as a Banquet Manager. As mentioned above, I do not currently have chickens. I plan to start building a coop within a week or so. I only plan on getting 4 hens. I have a small suburban yard which I'm just about to finish fencing in the backyard. This will become the chicken's free space. I'm building the coop as an addition of sorts to my shed. It'll come off the back like a lean-to. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from everyone here.
