Hi My name is Lisa, I live in Ontario Canada in the Georgian Bay Area.
In this hen house there is my very patient and incredibly helpful husband Bern, Myself, my service Dog Kona( who has raised several clutches of chicks, including a phesant clutch who consider her their mom still) , Our Old Aussie Boy Radar (he loves chickens and thinks we got them for him to herd...he is doing a half way decent job of training the production birds but not so successful with the heritage birds lol), Then there is our 3 pound yorkie Penny who loves to mother chicks by cleaning them from head to toe, and then there is Beacon our orphaned foster Landseer newfie pup she is 7 months old and blind, she loves chickens also but in a way we prefer to discourage, she is a chicken egg thief of extremely adept skills.

I have just found that I have become addicted to these time wasting, brain sucking foul...it amazes me that when I go out to feed and water the birds I find myself just wasting time watching them mesmerized and I just love it lol

Our coop has 1 black sex link hen ~6 red sexlink hens~1 barred rock hen~1 Welsummer hen~1 Ameraucana hen~ 6 Welsummer Chicks~5 Ameraucana chicks~5 ring neck pheasants~2 button Quail

I am looking forward to meeting others owned by their chooks and making new friends and learning from such a knowledgeable group!!!

Hello onedoodle3 !

Thank you for the welcome! Well our group is mostly fun and ALWAYS crazy lol

I agree this group is filled with great people and information! For some time when I google a question or look to identify a bird or any bit of information if it comes from just any where I do not take it as accurate unless I cross reference it with information from this site, I love it.

Love the fun I have seen on here also it really is a great place to be.

I plan on looking all over and it will take me some time but hopefully I will figure out the ins and outs quickly it is a well laid out site so it should not be long.

Cheers

Lisa

Love the descriptions of your dogs. They sound awesome.

As for the poll question... our chickens also love to eat scrambled eggs. :p
