I am new to BYC and also chickens. I got my first chicks the week before mothers day. I got 4 easter eggers and one Rode Island Red. I never knew how attached you can get to these little buggers. Unfortunately last week my fiance let the dogs out not knowing that the chickens where still out. In 10 min they killed 5 chickens. It was horrifying finding body after body. I haven't cried so much in a long time. After I composed myself I went out to find the missing EE. I figured that she was dead but there she was in the coop. I was so happy she is my fave too. Now i am rebuilding my flock. I now have 4 EE, 2 Bared Rocks, and 2 mystery chicks. I am excited to watch these little guys grow they are so much fun. I hope that everyone can help me with the many questions that I am going to have. Cluck to ya later.

2 kitties and 4 corn snakes. I drive the special needs bus for Tacoma school district although i don't know if Im going back now that baby is here. i love nature, animals, camping and really love fishing.
