Hello there! I am new!

Quote:
no actually, the cats do not bother the chickens at all, the dog Cabby however, has reduced our flock from 20 to 8 in less than 3 months.

cannot blame her, as she and her brother Willy are new here, having only had them since March of this year, I thought for a long while that some other creature was showing up and killing our clucks, until I found Cabby in the act one day, from then on, she is tied when out doors, Pittbull Frank is surprisingly the chickens keeper, he loves them as he is our first dog, going on 12 years old, he was raised from pup with chickens so he knows not to eat them, Shasha and Brant both eye them, but do not act on it.

thank you for the welcomes

Lol...u do have your hands full

my pointer mix Stella eyeballs the neighbors chickens, but hasn't acted on it. I still don't trust her. I'm new here just joined today too!

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. Wow, sounds a lot like us, except we only 1 sheep & the rest are goats. And a donkey & her new foal instead of a horse. They're a lot of work, but fun, aren't they? Your sons are lucky to have a great dad & I'm sure they're learning very valuable lessons on a farm

yes, I grew up on a sheep farm meself, thanks to my dear old father, ha!

I do want my children to learn what life is like on a farm, what better way to learn about nature, my children have witnessed many cat birthings, as well as one dog birth, and several sheep births, and niether are scared, confused,or grossed out by them, infact Vence always says "daddy, I can't wait until this kitten has her own kittens!" when we choose a farm-kitten to keep, even if it's a male haha.

I have a son,Vence, 5 years old, and a daughter, Raven, 3 years old. but thats an honest mistake, when Raven was an infant, we got "oh look at that cute little baby boy" alot, because we dressed her in blues and greens haha!
