Hello! My name is Kristi, and I guess I'd be considered a veteran feathered fiend owner. My first feathered "fiend" is not a chicken, actually, but rather a yellow naped amazon parrot named Dante (the Evil). I've had him since 1996 and got him when he was a year old. They live 75-100 years old, so he's a lifetime commitment. I started raising chickens in Colorado Springs in 2007, with three Easter Eggers, Winkin, Blinkin, and Nod. I've had Easter Eggers, Faverolles, Olive Eggers, Silkies, and Silverudd's Blues. Currently, we have two flocks, Silkies and Silverudd's Blues. We're retired, so we travel with our chickens, Dante, and our GSD, Charlotte. We're like the modern day version of the Beverly Hillbillies, I guess, lol! When I'm not covered in feathers, I'm a polymer clay artist, soap artisan, gardener, and sourdough bread maker. I've been a longtime BYC lurker . Nice to meet y'all.
