Virginia is overcast this morning, so I thought I’d go outside and have my coffee with my chickens that are now starting to free range (with careful supervision of course.)
I moved some of the rocks that I have surrounding my birdfeeders and my bluebird nest box. Happiness reigned!
Observations:
they love clover. And worms...OMG! Someone ate a bumblebee ( I think it was already deceased as it didn’t put up a fuss.)
Two of my five bird flock are definitely roosters. Or should I say cockerels at this stage. Big daddy, the one that will remain with my flock, is turning out to be a sissy. The Spare, rules the roost, Even though he is the smaller of the two. The spare actually Chased big daddy into the playpen. So sad.
One hen has decided that Big Daddy is “her man”, so I’ve named her Mrs. Big Daddy.
I’m wondering if I get enough chickens they’ll mow my lawn.
