I agree with bluebaby, get sex links I too just want the eggs and after buying free run chicks ( not knowing the sex of them ), it is heart breaking to end up with many roosters !
Start small you can always get more,
I started with hybrid hens and was very happy with them , one egg each day , easy going girls and no diseases or problems !!
