Hi, I'm new to this, also new to the whole raising poultry aswell so I look forward to hearing all your advice and methods
I've just successfully hatched my first 3 chicks and have now filled my incubator with chick and duck eggs! Extremely excited! Just wondering when it's OK to take the heat lamp away from my babies

Welcome to Backyard chickens! You take away your heat lamp when they are fully feathered out. At about 5 to 6 weeks.

Hi Leah thank you! This helps as the are becoming total torags, sitting on top of their box, flying around and keeping me awake at night

They are in the cupboard in my bedroom but think it's time I let go and put them out now just scared to do it so soon haha! I'm positive they'll be fine though, should I still supply a heat lamp once up at the field in the shed?

I moved mine outside without a lamp at 6 1/2 weeks. How cold does it get where you are?

Okay maybe it's time I just moved them then!! They are they're really friendly, love them to bits well I'm in fife in Scotland so the weather is gettin a tad better but really unpredictable

anything between 10 degrees and 18 degrees haha.

I would give them a heat lamp until they are older if its below 70. Here in Texas it is 90. I have 10 chickens. 6 nine week old chicks, and my chickens are about 10 months old. Also, Welcome to BYC!!

Okay it's all ready for them just need to fit the lamp so exciting! Oh lovely!! They're great pets to have!! I have 10 hens (6 different breeds), 1 cockerel, 3 chicks and 30 eggs in an incubator at the moment haha! Thank you it will take a while to get used to though haha!!
