Hi everyone!

My name is Marissa. I am a new chicken owner. My husband and I bought 5 little Silkie chickens this year in July. We also bought 2 geese, one male and one female as well. We keep them all in our backyard. The chickens have their own coop and run and they love it.

I discovered backyardchickens.com just googling different questions about health and wellness and diet and dust bath ideas, and this page always popped up. I got some great information here too about how to stop a goose from biting and attacking , so that was great.

I'm a most of the time Stay at Home Mom, but I do take care of the finances for my fathers well Drilling company as well. My husband and I have one child, a daughter who is 7 and we have a daughter from his previous marriage who is 15 and she lives with us every 2 weeks for 2 weeks at a time


We are absolutely loving our geese and chickens but we also have 2 indoor cats and an indoor dog. It's been a fun adventure so far with our newly acquired pets and we love them more and more every day.
