Okay so I'll try this again. About 12 days ago I found a muscovy duck egg all alone. It was kind of cold, so I wrapped it in cloth and held it in my hand all day, trying not to move it too much and trying to keep it warm until I could figure out what to do with it. I candled it, but couldn't see any sign of life in it, so I thought it was probably just infertile, but I kept it in a box with the pointed end down and used maxi pads filled with water to keep humidity. I used a heat lamp to incubate it and have tried to keep the temperature at about 99-101 degrees. I've never done this before, so I used what I had. I know it has a pretty slim chance at surviving, but it would hurt me if I didn't at least try. I waited to candle it again at day 10, and saw a dark mass inside of it, but I'm pretty sure no veins(and I never saw veins to begin with). The dark mass floats around when I rotate the egg. I also could never see a define yolk... So now when I candle the egg it looks like some fluids of yellowish and whiteish color are floating around. The air cell is still intact from what i have seen.... Does anyone know if this egg is going bad or growing or what? I wrote a different thread on it with pictures if anyone wants to try and help me. I would hate to give up on a living creature, but I would also hate if it exploded and made my house smell bad.... Hope someone can help! love the community... very welcoming
