It's nice to have you here! I've raised RIR's in the past and really liked them...good egg layers and beautiful (IMO). To me, they weren't any bossier than other breeds. But you'll find that not every breed generalization applies to every bird, they all have their own personalities.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock! BYC is a helpful site providing all the information you need to know about poultry! There is always space for more members on the BYC roost! What would you want your main purpose to be in the chickens you want? For example... Egg laying, pets, meat, dual purpose, show quality or exhibition? Red Sex Links i.e. are the best of all egg laying breeds, great lap birds but are very poor show quality. Some breeds may hold certain characteristics that you may not want and believe me chickens can be very different in character depending on breed. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
