Hello!

Hello, chicken people! I am very new to raising chickens, and have been lurking on this site for about a year now. I raised a batch of 26 meat bird and they are now in my freezer, and I have finally gotten going with my layers and four turkeys. They’re all little bitty birds still, about 3 weeks old, but growing fast, and full of delightful, nonsensical antics! The chicken knowledge of the hive mind here is incredible. :)
Howdy, and welcome. It's a nice little drama free place to get advice and share ideas.

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! Good for you doing your own processing. Brave. :bow I don't raise any chickens for meat, but there is the occasional culling of a rooster that needs to be done. In that case, I do the raising and spoiling and my husband does the processing. I just cannot. :hit
I understand! I did limit my snuggles with the meat chickens, and didn't name any of them- having to cull my layers or roosters will be terrible! I know it will have to happen at some point, and I'm really not looking forward to it... :(
