Hello, my name is Jennifer. I am not new to the chicken scene. I had a flock of 8 several years ago. We thought we were going to have to sell our home and had to get rid of them. We had a variety of chickens the first time around. 2 Longhorns, 2 bantams, 2 Rhode Island reds and a couple of short brown chickens. Loved watching the hen pecking and our head chicken, Miel, be the boss.
We tore everything down and got rid of the girls only to find out 6 months later we didn't need to move!
We waited a few years and we now have 6 easter egger chickens. Love getting the different colors and they are so chill personality wise.
We are looking to build a barn style roost/coop as we bought a prefab one and had to build a run. Once we saw the coop in use, the nesting area is too cramped for the ladies. It is too hard to clean as well.
Open to ideas!
For some reason, I'm suddenly hungry.
