(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have helped raised chickens as a child but my mom did all the hard and now as an adult I have no idea how to raise mine that I got 5 weeks ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 4 right now with 25 more on the way.
(3) What breeds do you have?
My first 4 chickens I have no idea what they are. The next 25 are Golden Sex Links.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching them and then getting the eggs when they are old enough.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like photography and horses.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I live in a small town in Washington with our 3 kids. We also have an Australian Cattle Dog/Kelpie mix. I am a stay at home mom who also works part time from home as a caregiver and my husband is a heavy equipment mechanic. I am also on my kids school board for their preschool and going to college for a criminal justice degree.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was researching chickens on google and the threads from this group kept popping up so I decided to just join the group to explore all the threads.
