I grew up with chickens but my father was the primary person that took care of them, so I have decided that I will get chickens. I came to this decision because a hen decided to show up at my father’s property and has decided to stay, I am in the process of gathering material for a chicken coop… I’m looking to get Rhode Island Red chickens. I find that sitting and watching the chickens is peaceful not to mention that they produce eggs and I am a fan of eating eggs. I like to spend time outdoors cooking and hunting. I found BYC while looking on how to keep chickens warm as I only have the one hen and she current doesn’t have any buddies to help her keep warm at night.
