Hello!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sudden death happens, but usually there is something going on that goes unnoticed by you. Chickens are very good at hiding their symptoms up until death so many times only a necropsy can tell you why they died. It's a normal process for liquid to be squeezed up the esophagus and out of the beak at death. I am so sorry you lost her. :hugsAlways traumatic when they pass.

Thank you. She was about a year old and so far the other chickens are okay, besides the two that are molting, and one of those has one dilated pupil and the other pupil is super small. But thanks for replying and welcoming me here to BYC!

Dying this young could be genetic or some organ malfunction, but it's hard to say. If you notice any strange symptoms with the others, definitely post about them in our Emergency forum.
