1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I’m brand new to chickens. We just got chicks on February 13th 2025
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 7. Their names are Agnes, Ethel, Margaret, Betty, Louise, Hazel… and Nobara. The last one is named by my daughter after an anime character.
But the rest all got old lady names.
(3) What breeds do you have? 5 barred rock pullets, and 2 Easter egger pullets
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? None yet LOL. My husband mostly wanted chickens, I’m just along for the ride and hoping to make the entire experience a positive one.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Reading, crochet, houseplants, and board games,
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My husband & I have 2 teenagers, a dog, 2 cats, 2 turtles, and a bearded dragon. We’ve also had pet rats and snakes in the past. So I guess now it’s time for something new!
