(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We got our first group of chickens last year. This first year has been awesome and a learning experience.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We started with 13 chickens. This spring we hatched 10 babies and bought 4 additional chicks. So now we have a total of 27. So far with only one rooster.
(3) What breeds do you have? We has leghorns, cinnamon queens, Easter eggers, rhode island reds, and some mixed of the above.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love their fun loving attitudes. And the farm fresh eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Right now my hobbies are my son, 7, and keeping up with him and all of his activities.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My family moved to a 4 acre lot a few years ago and have loved living back in the country. My family consists of my husband, son 7, step-daughter 12, and 3 dogs. And now 27 chickens.

. Found BYC on Facebook and wanted to join a community where I can learn more about raising our chickens and finding like minded people I can ask questions to.
