Hello! I am 29 and just got my first ever chicks this year. I am excited to learn more about raising chickens!

1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am very new to chickens! I brought my first chicks home 3weeks ago. I got them from the school I work for.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 15, 4 weeks old old, chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have no idea what breed chicks I have. They came from a school program where there are multiple types of chickens sharing a coop.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I am looking forward to having farm fresh eggs and having little dinosaurs to hang out with me when I’m working outside.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I also bake, crochet, and make stained glass items.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married, I work in a school, and have 3, indoor only, cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC through searching questions on Google. I joined to get answers to my many quest on raising chickens.
