New here! I've had a backyard flock for almost 3 years now. I currently have 18 hens & 1 roo! The past 2 years we've had broody hens hatch babies. Unfortunately last summer we had a big bobcat problem and lost 7! We reside in upstate NY!

Welcome to BYC from a fellow upstate New Yorker. I'm sorry to hear of your loss to bobcats. So far my flock has been fortunate, even though I know we have had bobcats, opossum, fox, hawks, weasels, and raccoons around. I have seen all but the bobcats on my property, and I have heard those in my backyard so I know they are around.
