Hello! I started raising chickens almost exactly a year ago. Right now I have one mystery bird that I bought as an Easter Egger but she is tiny and lays tinted white eggs. And she looks more like a Dutch Bantam but I dont know! her name is Kalani. And then I have two rescued Wyandottes a golden laced and a silver laced named Diega and Frida. I got them from a lady who saved them from a breeding farm in Preston, Idaho. When I got them they had no feathers on their back and their beaks were cut....and they were quite frankly ugly. But they have grown in their feathers and Frida is one of the prettiest hens I have. But for some reason neither of them have ever layed for me.
And then I have two golden laced Wyandottes that I raised from day old chicks. They just started laying! I am getting pink tinted eggs from these guys! There names are Jeffrey and Jude. And this saturday I am getting ten baby chicks! I am super excited! I live in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah and my chickens have done suprisingly well this winter! The only problem I have ever had is with Racoons.....last April they took four of my hens....I hate racoons. Oh and im 16 years old. YUP! thats my chicken run down for you.
