Hi from Colorado, USA and thank you for caring about such a wonderful bird. Most people just don't care. It sounds like you've already made a friend. As for rain, my girls couldn't care less. In fact they love playing in the mud. Nice setup by the way, a hen and you just may have a family brewing. P.S. he cannot live on bread alone.
