Hi as you can see I'm a newbie - I have 6 girls - 4 are ex battery hens and 2 from a local farm these are my newest 2 - 1 was for my birthday and one for Mother's Day - my girls are called Sophie Stevie Sadie Saffie Sunday and Six
My family think I'm kinda mental taking on this lot as we already have 4 Rotties - Sage Silus Spirit and Sammy and 3 cats Snoops Splodge and Serendipty
Guess you can see I have a "thing" for "S" names for my paw and claw family
How your all well and hope to chat to some of you soon xx

Welcome to BYC!

Sounds like you have a great group of companions! And congrats on the ex-batteries. How wonderful that you can give them a second chance at life.

Good luck with all your new adventures and welcome to our flock!

Thank you for the cheery colourful welcomes - I googled advice for sticky eye on Sadie and found you lot and got the help I needed - read to use tea working a treat
So I'm off for a mooch round to see what else I can learn

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have a nice family of pets! Like the name theme, have to ask, was chicken "Six" the number six chicken you got?

Yes Six is the sixth girl to join the flock -she was my Mother's Day pressie and Sunday was my birthday pressie a few Sundays ago - out of all the animals Sammy and Splodge are the only fellas - think I'm compensating for having all sons there's 5 of them so seem to like big " packs"
Although I did forget poor Scully the gheko also a girl and for some strange reason we only have ONE of them lol

Ha, that's funny, you obviously need a chicken "Seven" also, in numerical order and she'd fit with the theme! Yikes, you are outnumbered by the fellas in the human department, you definitely need more hens, or a gecko friend for Scully. In case you haven't noticed we are enablers around here. .

Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! Glad to have you here! See you around the forum.
