Hi all, I'm Katie and desperately wanting some laying hens. The problem is that my boyfriend is SO not on board!! So, it might be a while before I have any.

I mostly just joined to read more about chickens. I am hoping to only have two or three laying hens that I can leave in the yard during the day and put in their coop at night/when unsupervised, etc. I don't know anything about breeds, about housing conditions, about egg laying, or how messy, noisy, and smelly they might be.

Any tips would be helpful! I just really love chickens and I would even more love to have some that could provide us with delicious eggs!

All kidding(?) aside, has he ever been around chicks? Seems like most boyfriends/husbands fall for chickens as hard as the women do, once they meet them.
