Hi, I am new to BYC and to chickens in general. I have wanted chickens for years but never seriously pursued getting them until I volunteered to take some that were hatched as part of a school project. I now have 12 nearly 3 week old chicks, and am eagerly awaiting to see how many hens we end up with. Four are from the school project and are barnyard mutts, and I also have four strait run Brahmas, two Golden Comet pullets, and two Amberlink (maybe) pullets from TSC.
So far the only draw backs I've seen to having chickens is that I waste all together too much time watching them, and learning about them here on BYC.

and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your new chicks, hope you wind up with lots of pullets! Sounds like you have discovered Chicken Television! Be sure to check out the BYC Learning Center, lots of good articles on all aspects of chicken keeping you'll find helpful.
They sure are amusing little creatures.
