HELP - 1.5 week old chick with 2 days of diarrhea - what can I do?

I have a chick - Black/Blue Splash Orpington - that has had medium brown runny/squirty poop (w/bubbles) for 2 days. As far as I can tell, she is the only chick of the twelve I have that has this problem as I've seen others poop and looks normal. All chicks are 11 days old - vaccinated for Mareks. Brooding in 3x2 foot open-wire dog crate, pine shavings. Using heat plate; MannaPro medicated chick starter, water, no treats. All seem very comfortable and are usually quiet (a few squawks now and then). I tried giving yogurt and that was just a disaster as not only were they NOT interested in eating it, there ended up being yogurt on everything - as well as poo in the yogurt container I gave it in - so gross.

What else can I do? Will this pass? Chick seems normal otherwise. She's quite timid and shy - usually gets the last of food and runs away under the heat plate a lot. Will come out and chill but generally not interested in me.

Sorry to hear about this issue.. I don't think I'm experienced enough to really offer any hard advice, but would you happen to have any chick probiotic on hand? Usually feed stores carry a save-a-chick probiotic packet that you can try? Good luck

Unfortunately no probiotic for their water, only electrolytes, which I can put back in (only had in first week). I tried yogurt for probiotic but that didn't work as I was hoping ...

Hi there, My week old chickie has the same problem...(pic attached..is that what hers looked like?). She seems totally fine and healthy though. She is the one that is most interested in me... how are yours doing? Get anymore advice?

Yep - just like that. I gave probiotics and she was back to normal poop in about 2 days. They are 7 weeks old now and all are doing spectacular - didn't think all 12 would make it but they did! My Splash Orpington is way down on the pecking order and is very very shy. Hope she comes around as my other two Orpingtons are so sweet! Get some probiotics -. Good luck!

I would do probiotics instead. Helps keep the gut clean. I have a product called Rooster Booster (brand) and it has vitamins and all other stuff in it.

Thank you for your advice! I will check it out! Our local mountain feed has the brand Save-a-Chick. Very LOL brand names for these cuties.
