Both of those xrays are from the same chicken. I didn't think to send my barred rock off before I buried her yesterday, the rest of the flock seemed fine...

That's what I assumed, it's just that in one the objects look round, like possible cancer, but in the other the look man-made.

Thanks so much for the advice and pointers on where to find affordable necropsies. The deed is already done for this hen, but in the future I will go through one of these sites.

The xrays were around $200, and the autopsy $300. I know I was overcharged, but I didn't have the wherewithal to make a good decision. I'm new to owning chickens and this is hitting me pretty hard.

Does anyone have any other ideas of what could have led to these related or unrelated deaths?

Everyone is eating, scratching, drinking water. Poop is all normal.

They all have a little sneeze, but if that wasn't even the culprit...

What diseases could cause a hen to become lethargic and lame to the point of dying in 48 hours?
