On inspection of our chickens today we noticed that Olivia (our 3 year old's favorite) has some severe skin issues. We have inspected everyone else and no one has even the slightest deformity/or feather missing. She eats good & is not acting sick.

Anyone know what this is & what we need to do for poor Olivia?

I know this is a terrible pic but she is really raw, red & scales. She also has what appears to be a round wound/hole under her wing.

Ok, first thing to check is if she has lice, mites or fleas. Watch and see if she is pulling her feathers. You don't say how old she is and whether or not she is laying eggs.

This is a good article to start with: chicken skin disorders

Read and then check your hen for each.

Under a year not laying from what I can tell. Still eating well just ugly skin problem. No mites or lice from what we can see. No other hen has any signs. What should we do for her? Meds? ointments?

Man! that is rough! The hole under her wing looks like necrotic tissue. I don't know if you have a vet you could send those pics to, but I would see if I could find one. Is she the one causing that damage? She isn't showing any other signs of infection? You might try some triple antibiotic cream on the red areas. I am not sure what I would do with the hole. Maybe irrigate it well and see what flushes out.

I'm by no means an expert, but it looks like a possible injury to me? Could some predator have gotten ahold of her?
