So today is day 21 for my last viable buff orpington egg under one of my broodies. It had internally pipped sometime early yesterday morning when I candled it. This morning there was still no external pip. I candled it again as i couldn't hear any tapping or chirping. I just lost my other 2 chicks yesterday. One never pipped and the other pipped then died. Anyways, the chick was still moving inside the egg. I waited a few more hours then decided to put a tiny air hole in the air celljust in case it was running low on oxygen being that it had been over 24 hours since internal pip. I immediately placed the egg back under my broody and have left it alone. I went out just now to check on it again and still nothing. No chirping or tapping. I candled very quickly once more. There is movement but the chick has made absolutely no progress. I'm afraid at this point that the chick may be shrink wrapped. Any opinions on what I should do at this point? I want to do all I can to help so please don't say "let nature take its course". Should I try to assist or give it more time?
