Help! 5 day old chick with prolapsed vent

Is there anything that can be done?!? I called the hatchery and they told me to put her down but I need to know if there’s anything we can do to save her. If it’s fixable, do they have issues laying eggs once they mature?? TIA for your help!!

It's probably fixable. Use witch hazel to very gently clean and push the prolapse back in. Then use cortisone cream on the vent to reduce swelling and pain.

At the same time, give the chick coconut oil in case the prolapse is caused by constipation. Take a teaspoon of coconut oil, divide it into tiny bite size pieces, and chill until solid. Then feed the all of the pieces to the chick by prying the beak open and shoving them inside one at a time.
