Help, a lost new goat owner needs HELP - updated (with PICS)

I hope so. My cow dog loves them. She throws them a toy for them to throw but she also did this to the chickens when they first were outside. The girls were pushing the fence and my dog thought it was a game, she loved it. My dd loves the idea that they stop crying when she shows up. She kisses them goodbye everytime she leaves them.

I found out from the previous owner was that she separated the boys from the mom a week ago but not the girls. That is why they are having a fit.

Give them two or three days to settle in. They are away from their mommy and in a new, strange place. They should be just fine.

My goat youngsters tend to transfer there herd leadership to me when they get weaned. They like to be WITH their leader and will cry for me to be with them. Its pretty common for them to cry when you leave or when humans leave as they have become the new *mom*. You provide feed (mom) you provide comfort (mom) you provide protection (mom). As they get used to being on their own it will get easier for them, but they will always greet you and talk to you if you aren't there, especially if they see you but can't get to you. They will be fine as long as they have a buddy. You can put an old box or dog kennel in with them. They like small snug spaces. They will crawl in and sleep.

thanks....the previous owner emailed me today and said she found out that they weren't weaned (girls). She thought they were but found the moms bag engorged today. Not sure what to do but what I'm doing. Some grain and alfalfa. Although they hardly touch the alfalfa.

you guys have any idea if a the goats are suppose to make a grunt/burping sound? The wether did that when I brought him home yesterday, now the buck does it a little and so does one of the does.

Is it a cold or do they do this?
