Help!!!!!!! Abandoned Egg!

This was definitely a group BYC effort because I was doing EVERYTHING WRONG! If you can imagine when we first found it my son and I rushed inside and we took turns keeping it warm in our hands while we posted here. Thank goodness for BYC!!!

Thank you everyone. I will post a new pic once it is dry and fluffy.

A couple more questions:

The chick has dried but has some suck feathers on it's back. The skin under looks very red. Is all that okay?

More importantly it hatched about 6 hours ago and is not really up on it's feet. Instead it just lurches forward. Toes are flat and I have lifted it a few times to stand on just feet, but I was concerned as I hoped to put it in with the hen tonight. I have dipped it's beak in sugar water 2-3 times and put a pinch of chick feed in the box which it has pecked at a bit but not much.

My final and perhaps strangest question: do chicks imprint on people? It is watching me very carefully and when I put my hand in it almost jumps into my hand. As flattering as that is I would rather it imprint on the hen.

Here is a pic that shows the feathers:

Thats normal skin/feathers...give it some time to walk it may just be a little weak, don't worry about it not eating they don't eat until all the yolk that is in its body has been absorbed and that can take 2-3 days. They do not imprint it is just lonely.

BTW, mnferalkitty.... I WANT THAT CAT! OMG THAT THING IS A-DOR-A-BLE! I LOOOOVE IT!
His name is Bubbles and he is 10 yrs old!! He is a good kitty

Should I wait to put the chick in with the hen and other chick until it can walk? The other chick is a terror - constantly pecking at the hen's eyes etc.

It has been 24 hours and the chick still isn't walking normally. Legs/toes look fine but it doesn't seem to rise all the way on it's feet. I read something about yolk tummy and I did notice it's "bum" seemed swollen but is getting smaller. Is that the yolk and could that be why it doesn't stand/walk? I am anxious to get it out with the hen and the other chick, but afraid to until it can walk and run.
