We had 7 ducklings come in Wednesday. 1 arrived dead, 1 died a few minutes later. When we woke up today one more was dead and the black one seen in the video just died. Now the male welsh harlequin duckling is starting to curl its head and won’t walk. It’s starting to have spasms like the one in the video. And he keeps falling over. He used to be the most active of them all. What can I do to save them? We are only down to 3 ducks.

Update: the male duckling has died as well. Only two female welsh harlequins left :/

I am so sorry, have you contacted the hatchery? There isn’t a video, you have to put your video on Vimeo or you tube then copy an paste here. Very possibly shipping stress. What are you using for a brooder what type of heat and feed?

Do you have poultry Nutri drench? Dribble along the bill it’s great stuff for stress related issues or other things that are going on with shipped or just hatched ducklings give it straight.
Tried getting that but tractor supply didn’t have it. We got rooster booster. It’s vitamins and electrolytes with lacto bacillus. Will this help? The two left seem to be slowing down and losing energy :(

This is so sad. Did you dunk their bills in water upon arrival? Try mixing some sugar water up for the remaining ducklings and imdip their little bills in it for energy. Be sure to have waterer of fresh clean water. Could be shipping stress, this is beyond devastating and I am so sorry for your losses. Definitely contact the hatchery asap and notify them. They will replace them as well as provide an explanation which might bring you a bit of comfort. If they do neither of those, it's time to find a new hatchery 🙁

What type of feed are you providing, as well as the temp of the brooder and are you using pine shavings? They look like pine shavings just wondering. I know cedar is a no go because of the toxic fumes that result from the excess heat.

I got 15 chicks from a hatchery, they are not even a week old, and two of them have died already. They looked a lot like your duck, as they were laying down and moving their heads weird. We haven't figured out for sure what it is, but I think wry neck.
Wry neck can be caused by a vitamin E deficiency, or a selenium deficiency.
Try to get them supplements as fast as you can.
