What are the true 8 colors for an Ameraucana?
What is the Difference?
When will he start crowing you think?
It's a Peacomb.... He's actually one of the friendlier Roo'sThe 8 accepted colors are: black, blue, white, wheaten, blue wheaten, brown-red, buff and silver. Your boy is none of these colors. Plus he has greenish/willow color legs. Ameraucana's have slate legs. It's very hard to tell but does your guy have a single comb or pea comb. The picture is really hard to tell the type of comb he has.
As for the starting of crowing he may take a while if the others are crowing. I have a group of males right now 5 in total. They are all the same age. 3 have started crowing and the other 2 have not. I am guessing that because the others are crowing the ones not maybe feel they don't have too.
Blue is not the same as Lavender. I think the ABC is trying to get Lavender as an accepted color for 2013. Don't quote me on that but I know the club is working on it.So blue is that the same as Lavender when considering a color for Ameraucana's since I do know I have a a Lavender Roo who is a little older....he has not a full huge tail which is kind of odd....about the leggs great info thank you!
