So tommorow I pick up 1 week old chicks that I learned I was getting about and hour ago, so... anyways my brooder is a 100 gal stock tank, metal and it is about 6 feet maybe 8 and 2 wide, first off how long can I keep these 50 bird in one of these for, 2) I have it outside and at night it gets to 40-30 degrees will it be alright?

Is the brooder in a building? If it is you can cover it at night to keep the heat in for them. You may have to put 2 heat sources in there. What is the temperature during the day?

the temp during the day is 50-60 ish I can move it into my garage but I would rather not, it has a plywood lid that is hinged and seals quite tight

I set it up about 30 mins ago I am going to go check the temp really quick

was not even close to warm enough i will move it into the garage and add a little electric heater and maybe cover it with a blanket

They should be fine in that for long enough for them to be moved to the coop. Be sure and keep it clean to avoid any illnesses.

that little electrical heater had that thing roasting in 5 sec on 1/3 throttle
