Have 30 free ranging (1 acre) 5 month old heritage breeds hens.get oyster shells. And non gmo feed. Get hen scratch in the morning and once a week get a treat (watermelon, corn or letttuce) They just started laying about two weeks ago. My girl Gibbles. Australorp was second to lay and layed again three days later. I noticed she hasn't been in the nesting boxes for a while. She's a ppl chicken and sits on my lap regularly. I. Noticed today that she was smooth bald
Around her hips and vent. I also noticed a few small yellow/red lesions. Not bleeding. And also not acting in the horny stance she used to whenever I would pet her. I checked all other chickens and they are fine. It's just her. I do get a couple that peck other chickens but only on the back by tail feathers and never seen them peck her. I checked her for live and mites and her poop is normal.

Hi @JaimeSTILLWATER :frow Welcome To BYC

It looks like scabs and sores from feather picking/plucking. Watch to see if anyone is plucking at your pullet's feathers when she is roosting. You can apply a little Blu Kote or Pick No More to the scabs to see if that helps. Sometimes they will regrow plucked out feathers if the shaft came out with it - I do see a few that look like there is an intact shaft, so she won't re-grow those until she molts at around 16-18months.

If they free range, check to see if she is laying her egg somewhere else, possibly under a bush or patch of tall grass.
