I have polish chicks that I bought from an auction 3 1/2 weeks ago, so I would say they are around 3-4 weeks old. Yesterday I came home and found one chick having trouble breathing & couldnt stand. She ended up passing away. 😄So as I was looking over the other chicks, I found one that had white diarrhea all over its bottom. I cleaned it up and separated it from the rest. This morning I noticed its bottom is covered in poop and the white diarrhea keeps coming out. Other than the diarrhea, the chick is moving around fine & I havent noticed any other symptoms. I am a newer chicken momma & this is a first for me. What do I need to do?

What is the temperature of the brooder and what exactly are you feeding them?
The thermometer that I have set to the edge of the brooder has been around 70 - 75. But somehow my heater/brooder plate was turned to heater, so idk if my granddaughter changed it. This is my set up, its a pop up dog kennel. I had set the brooder/heater on all 4's but then their head was rubbing the top so I put it standing up.

How is your little chick doing?
Perhaps there are different types of brooder plates - I only know my brooder plate doesn't warm all the air under it - the chicks have nearly to touch the plate with their back or be near under it to get the warmth (so does say the description from my plate) - - so I'm not sure if a brooder plate laying on the side can provide the warmth they need?
