Hi everyone, our Muscovy ducks eggs have recently hatched about 48 hours ago. This morning I noticed one of her ducklings out of her nest, cold and lifeless so I brought it inside and warmed it up again but due to having to go to work after the ducking seemed well again, I placed it back in the nest with its mother. I have come home again and it is pushed out of the nest and back to where it was health wise this morning and am currently warming it back up again. Is there a reason why she is not looking after this duckling but she is taking care of the rest?

:welcome!

It sounds like she's rejected him for whatever reason. She might think there's something wrong with him, she might just not like him. Whatever the case, you need to take him and a sibling for company and brood them yourself or she will let him die.
