I have 10 poults and one of them has just stopped eating. I noticed it was weak earlier today and picked it up and it's keel bone is sticking out and it is just lighter than the others. These were hatched may 13 or thereabouts. They have done alright, all the others seem to be doing alright. I just sat out there and fed him egg yolk mixed with water and chick feed. Made it into a paste and just sort of would rub a little on his tongue and keep harassing him until he would swallow. Tomorrow if he's still alive I plan on doing the same thing. He's barely walking and obviously not eating or drinking at all. It's hard to get him to eat the paste but I'm not going to give up. Tomorrow I'll add a little sugar to the mixture. So sugar water, chick feed, and egg yolk. I'm going to force him to eat for as long as he's alive or starts eating on his own.

I know very little about turkeys, but could your poult have coccidiosis? It may be worth treating with some Corid for 5 days just in case.

Well they are on medicated feed and all poops look normal, this one is just sluggish and will not eat. Isn't the medicated feed supposed to prevent coccidiosis? Or can birds on medicated feed still fall prey to this? I have never lost a chick or even had a sick one and I've probably raised up a hundred or better so far. Now I've got this turkey trying it's best to die on me. Really sucks.

The medicated feed has just a tiny amount of amprollium in it to help with promoting immunity to cocci as they are gradually exposed, but many sill still get it. Lethargy and poor appetite are some symptoms. It won't hurt to treat it with Corid (amprollium) or Ampromed. If you don't do the Corid treatment, then try vitamins in the water to see if it stimulates the poult to eat. Dosage of Corid is 2 tsp of liquid in 1 gallon of water for 5 days.

Eh it happens hopefully not after I get this corid. All the other birds in the brooder are doing well, so hopefully this will be the end of our troubled
